This American Cornhole Association sanctioned tournament will start at the Dublin Irish Festival located on the Greenfields Sports Area on Friday August 6th with open play from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. and tournament starts at 6 p.m.

Work Begins on National Film School Building

Work is to begin in two weeks on the site of IADT's new National Film School. The project, which has been awarded ?5 million by Minister for Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan TD, will see the building of Ireland's first HD television studios. The building is to open for Sep/Oct 2011.
£22m Return in NIS Financial Report

Northern Ireland Screen's annual report for the year 2009 - 2010 has been published and shows a return of £22 million to the local economy through the group's main production investment fund. One of the biggest success stories for the group was 'Your Highness' which brought in £11.78 million of this.
Rebecca O'Brien Talks Co-Production

As part of this year's Galway Film Fleadh Media Antenna's Irish contingent, fronted by Eibhlín Ní Mhunghaile, hosted a co-producers' dinner. Rebecca O'Brien (who has produced twelve of Ken Loach's films since 'Hidden Agenda' in 1990) was invited to make a key note speech after dinner; her key points are reproduced below:
Eanán Patterson Scores with 'Milo'

Irish composer Eanán Patterson will travel to Los Angeles later this year to create and record the score for TCS Productions' new feature film, 'Milo'. The film will start shooting in late autumn in L.A. when Patterson will travel over. The composer is currently scoring an untitled feature doc about T.K. Whitaker for TG4.
